The Integrated Labor Market Information System was launched by the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs in Addis Ababa on July 1, 2021. This digital system serves as a crucial foundation for employment and labor policies. Here are some key points about this system:

The system provides essential data to inform the design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of employment and labor policies. It facilitates better-targeted policies by analyzing labor market information. Policymakers can use this data to make informed decisions. Management and Implementation:

The system is jointly managed by the Ministries of Labor and Social Affairs, Science and Technology, and the International Labor Organization. A total of 20 government and private institutions are involved in its implementation.

Job Seeker Access: The system allows job seekers, including university graduates, to easily access reliable job market information through a digital platform.
Integration: It brings together scattered job platforms within the country.

1. Accessing the portal:

There are two main ways to access the E-LMIS portal:

  • Website: You can access the portal through the website https://lmis.gov.et  LMIS This is the most comprehensive way to access all the information available on the portal.
  • Mobile App: The E-LMIS portal also has a mobile app available for Android and iOS devices. The app provides a more limited set of features than the website, but it can be a convenient option for on-the-go access to job market information.

2. Creating an account:

If you plan to use the E-LMIS portal regularly, it's a good idea to create an account. This will allow you to save your searches, set up job alerts, and track your applications.


To create an account, click on the "Create Account" button on the homepage. You will be asked to provide your basic information, such as your name, email address, and password.
